Paradigm Engineers and Constructors provided design/build services for the occupancy of a 106,000 sq. ft. concrete facility. Aside from providing all A/E services, the project management scope included moving the client’s complete manufacturing operation from the east end of Louisville to a Hub Zone downtown. The build out/renovation involved demolition of 29,000 sq. ft. of office and storage space, to include all mechanical, plumbing and electrical utility demolition. A 6,000 sq. foot office build-out and an 822 sq. ft. employee shower complex were erected. Additionally, much concrete and masonry structural reinforcement was designed and performed throughout the facility. The majority of the concrete and masonry scope involved designed repairs of deteriorated concrete walls and floors. Previously cut openings in the 16” 2nd floor slab had to be filled in and reinforced to allow for forklift travel and machine weights. This involved extensive structural analysis and design of reinforcement plans, shoring, and concrete specifications with fill planning. The scope also involved extensive lighting of 60,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, as well as overseeing the installation. Overall project was valued at $1.39 million.
