New Building Entrace & Welcome Center (Anti Terrorism)

Paradigm Engineers and Constructors designed a standalone new entrance building and welcome center that connects the south entrance of Building 1 to the new entrance of the surgery building. Planetree principles were utilized throughout.

The scope of the work included:

  • Installation of new windows and doors
  • Extensive construction coordination to be provided as the entrances to these areas needed to remain operational
  • The new entrance area was designed to be both inviting and convenient
  • Design drawings that reflect proper work times coordinated with the hospital
  • New HVAC units and controls designed to meet current ASHRAE standards throughout the area
  • VAV systems w/ DDC control
  • All new system controls that are compatible with existing controls while meeting the requirement for individual room controls
  • Design work compliant with the space criteria referenced in PG-18-9 “Space Planning Criteria for VA Facilities”
  • Force protection/anti- terrorism measures
