Renovation of West Wing, Fourth Floor, Building 1
Client: Grand Junction VA Medical Center, Grand Junction, Colorado
Paradigm provided design services for the Grand Junction VAMC renovation. We investigated and developed design and contract documents in two phases for 26 physician offices with staff and environmental support areas, as well as a 4th-floor-wide HVAC system. This project included an energy design analysis, design and direction for asbestos and transite abatement, and providing for:
- replacement of the existing CPVC sprinkler piping system
- design of offices, office support areas, conference room, storage areas, elevator lobbies, housekeeping areas and Information Technology hub room
- design of an air conditioning and heating system (HVAC) for all renovated spaces and for existing non-renovated spaces, including chilled water piping/pumps, steam, hot water piping/pumps and digital building management control systems
- design of plumbing systems and equipment necessary to support the occupation of the fourth floor
- design of an electrical distribution system
- a structured cable system for voice and data
- emergency egress, wayfaring, smoke and fire protection
