Renovate A-Mod for Women’s Clinic

Client: VA Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Paradigm provided architectural and engineering services for this Oklahoma City VAMC Women’s Clinic project, the demolition and renovation of approximately 10,400 square feet of existing administrative and clinical areas. The intention was to renovate the area for greater patient services, higher efficiency, better patient flow, improved administrative functioning, and upgrade of interiors to the latest VA standards.

The following functions were accommodated:

  • Women’s Clinic
  • Medical Administration Service (MAS) Intake and Eligibility
  • Diabetic Education
  • Telehealth services
  • Low Vision Services
  • Shared Waiting Area

The MAS Eligibility suite includes privacy interview workstations, a supervisor office, and MAO Office.

The Women’s Clinic includes:

  • exam rooms
  • physician’s office
  • resident office
  • triage room
  • nurse office
  • private check-in
  • private restroom
  • waiting area
  • pneumatic tube station

The new Diabetics Patient Education Center included offices, a classroom, and a conference room.

New finishes assist in the functional use of the space. The shared waiting room has a feature wall and dimensional lettering for enhanced wayfinding throughout the renovated area. Floor finishes in the waiting area have a distinct pattern to help create different zones for patient and staff waiting, and accent paint creates a distinction between different clinic areas.
