Dialysis Expansion
Client: Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana
Paradigm provided design services for this 4,500 SF Indianapolis VAMC Dialysis project, which involved the complete gut and rebuild of the outdated Dialysis Unit. The new Dialysis unit incorporates modern codes and healthcare standards, and provides for increased patient capacity. The existing restrooms were expanded to meet current ADA space requirements, the nurses station enlarged, and the Medicine Prep room enlarged. The nurses station was also relocated to provide improved patient visibility.
Paradigm designed this Indianapolis VAMC Dialysis project in phases to minimize disruption to patient treatment. All construction work that produces noise was performed after hours so that patients were not disturbed.
With this dialysis expansion, the seventh floor dialysis clinic is now used for Chronic and Home Dialysis only, with Acute Care services on the sixth floor.
